Ha, it's a small world I agree those were a deal, that guy had some other nice stuff too. I remember reading a post by Ray Ayotte on another forum.he raved about the shell proceess.I had heard that there was a divorce that was partially to blame on company folding 'temporarily". I usually can't tell much of a difference between a set of modern DW, Yommy, Pearl, etc.But these are incredible. They tune up easy.Just very well built drums. (Motor City Drum Kitchen) I definitely think there is something to the whole gum wood thing. I have this kit and a custom keller kit in silver glass built by MDK Drums. The finish was beautiful! I just really wanted a 22" kick. I used to have a Fibes kit in Ruby Red glass lacquer. I wanted to use them last weekend, but I've cleaning on them.the bass drum hoops were pretty chewed up.So I've been filling and repainting them back to gloss black. They were in perfect condition.I had a little trouble with the seller. I'm a bit bored with the mint green Pearl wrap on my Fibes drums.
Who makes fibes drums professional#
I suspect we'll see Yamaha unviel a professional Rogers product before we see a Fibes that is.well, Fibes.ĭid you buy the 22,12,16 red glitter kit on Ebay? Those were nice. I can't imagine 09, given the economy is going to be time to unmoth ball what is essentially now a boutique drum company (I'd love to be proven wrong). Basicly all that was for sale was the name and then reputation.now granted, if you were going to move a factory, not having to move raw materials and stock would make sense.but not if you were trying to sell it. When Tommy was "selling" the company I guy I know who new a little about the Fibes history and machinery did a little checking and found that there was essentially no stock on hand, no raw materials and no new machinery. I want Tommy to build me a maple kit so I hope Fibes will be back. he must have a lot of parts and shells lying around gathering dustįrom what I have been able to find out, it will not be this year. I still don't understand why Tommy doesen't get his s**t together and starts making drums again. I have three drums he's worked over for me. You can contact him at: I'll try and post a pic of a craviotto shell he sprayed for me. The dude is an artist! And completely affordable! One of the nicest guys I've met. Hey if your bored with your finish you need to get a hold of Benjy Abbott from Abbott Drumworks. Did you buy the 22,12,16 red glitter kit on Ebay? Those were nice.
